From 9th to 13th June, Plaça de Catalunya will become a pilgrimage site for Formula 1 fans. This is where the fan zone usually associated with this type of event will open its doors. There will be activities related to this sport, as a way to bring it closer to the general public; proposals for the little ones, giant screens, and even the occasional visit from a famous driver. Entry is free, but to access it you must register through their website.
Not every day can you say you’ve driven a supercar. In fact, not every day can you say you’ve driven a supercar on an old urban circuit. In this case, the Montjuïc Formula 1 circuit, which was active until the mid-1970s. Being able to live that experience is precisely what the company Drive Me Barcelona offers. To do so, you just have to choose the model of car you want (Ferrari, Porsche, McLaren, Lamborghini…) and book from all the options they present, the ‘Montjuïc and the F1 urban circuit’ option.

Before stepping onto the circuit, putting your earplugs in, and starting to feel your chest vibrate with every passing car, we suggest a very different scenario. We suggest you enjoy the sea by going sailing. The trips on offer are many and varied: from those that invite you to watch the sunset from a catamaran while learning in a gin and tonic workshop, to those that really get going and organise an afternoon party out at sea, or those that make a great mix between incredible views of the Barcelona skyline with a jazz concert as a soundtrack. Afterwards, you can return to the tarmac.
At CocoVail Beer Hall at Carrer d’Aragó 284, they have been offering craft beer and delicious chicken wings in 17 flavours for 10 years. Creating a good atmosphere and getting you to meet people is what their huge communal tables are for, where different groups come together. What do they have in common? That they are there to enjoy the Formula 1 races broadcast on their TVs.
The same atmosphere, hearty pub food (burgers, tequeños, sandwiches, nachos…), beer to accompany every bite, and screens to follow each race closely is what Seven Kitchen & Bar offers, a sports bar located at Carrer Balmes 64.

The circuit where this Grand Prix takes place is in Montmeló, about 27 kilometres north of Barcelona. To get there, you can go by car. It will take about half an hour from central Barcelona, and you just need to drive along the C-33 road and follow the directions from the GPS, where you will have entered Mas La Moreneta s/n, 08160 Montmeló. Bear in mind that you should leave with plenty of time: traffic jams often form. To park, it is necessary to have reserved a parking space in advance.
The other option is public transport. The organisers have established a shuttle bus service (L418) that runs in the mornings and until early afternoon from Estació del Nord, stopping near Gate 3 of the circuit. The return starts in the late afternoon. Tickets are available through the bus company’s website.
Finally, you can always take the Rodalies trains on the R2 Nord line to Montmeló. From there, you can walk (about 30 minutes) or wait for the free shuttle buses that take you to the circuit, stopping at Gates 6 and 7.
Sercotel has three hotels in Barcelona that allow you to find the perfect balance to enjoy the races and the city. We are talking about Sercotel Rosellón and its rooftop, probably the one with the best views of the Sagrada Familia; Sercotel Caspe, central and very close to the station from which buses depart to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya; and Sercotel Ámister Art Hotel, cosmopolitan and with an artistic touch that elevates any stay in the city.
