Sercotel is continuing to advance its growth strategy along the Mediterranean coast with the addition of three new leisure properties in the Region of Murcia and the Valencian Community: a four-star hotel in Los Alcázares, in the Mar Menor area; a four-star superior aparthotel located at Cape Santa Pola, overlooking the Mediterranean and offering spectacular views of the island of Tabarca; and a three-star hotel in Benidorm.
With these additions, Sercotel now has 12 properties focused on the leisure segment and is strengthening its presence in some of the leading tourist destinations along the Mediterranean coast. The company will have 6 hotels in the Region of Murcia and 11 in the Valencian Community, consolidating both regions as strategic locations within its expansion plan.
The three additions form part of Sercotel’s strategy to expand its presence in the leisure segment while complementing its well-established city hotel offering. The new properties will each provide a distinctive proposition: a hotel with extensive sports facilities and event spaces by the Mar Menor; an aparthotel overlooking the Mediterranean, with views of Tabarca and a comprehensive wellness offering; and a hotel close to both the beach and Benidorm’s historic centre.
Sercotel’s CEO, José Rodríguez, highlights the significance of these three additions for the hotel group: “We want the growth of our leisure portfolio to be based on properties that offer complementary experiences. Apartments, wellness services and sports facilities enable us to broaden the range of options available to our guests at Sercotel. These three additions are another step in that direction and allow us to bring our management expertise to new projects along the coast.”
The addition of these three new assets reinforces the company’s strong growth trajectory, as it continues to pursue a strategic roadmap aimed at reaching €360 million in revenue and a portfolio of 160 properties by 2029. At present, the group has 101 hotels in Spain and Andorra, of which 63 operate under management agreements, 21 under franchise agreements and 17 are currently under development.
