Summer trips

Thinking that Andorra is only a winter destination is a mistake. The Principality is also made for summer and for enjoying as a family. Adventure activities, magical trails and even spa experiences for all ages prove the point. Andorra is a definite YES when the warmer weather arrives.

Hiking for all the family

Spending hours walking up and down mountains and exploring the great outdoors is not always an easy sell to younger children. That is why Andorra has created the Macarulla Magical Trails. These short, easy circular routes feature challenges, clues and riddles for children to solve as they discover the wildlife found in Andorra, the mythical creatures from its legends, how to follow animal tracks and much more. Head to your nearest tourist office and ask about the trails. They will give you the coordinates.

Spark their curiosity at a solar viewpoint

It is not every day you can say you have climbed onto a sundial near the border between Andorra and France and admired unforgettable views from the top. That is exactly what awaits at the Tristaina Solar Viewpoint, a metal ring measuring 25 metres in diameter and 1.25 metres wide, with its structure suspended in mid-air. Located more than 2,700 metres above sea level in Ordino Arcalís, it can be reached by cable car and chairlift, followed by a walk of around 15–20 minutes.

Put their adventurous spirit to the test

If your family loves a thrill, no summer trip to Andorra would be complete without a ride on the Tobotronc, a slide set amid nature. And not just any slide: it features 5.3 kilometres of rails, along which a two-seater toboggan travels while allowing you to control your speed throughout the descent. With a vertical drop of 400 metres, there are some serious slopes along the way. Tobotronc is located in La Rabassa forest, along with the rest of Naturland, an outdoor activity centre. You can also ride Forestline, a winding zip line stretching for more than 500 metres; tackle N’Boscat, an aerial course featuring suspension bridges, ropes and zip lines; or try Airtrekk, a circuit of ropes, platforms and walkways.

It is not all about the mountains: you can go paddling too

Mon(t) Magic, set among the mountains of the Grandvalira ski resort, becomes a hub of adventure and adrenaline during the warmer months. Zip lines and free-fall jumps are also popular here. What we particularly love about this park, however, is its enormous lake, where you can go canoeing or kayaking, or ride a water scooter. Refreshing activities that are perfect for hot summer days.

Unwind among the bubbles

After several action-packed days, children need some downtime too. And in Andorra, we cannot think of a better place to unwind than Caldea. Children are so welcome that they even have their own spa, specially designed for little ones aged between 3 and 8. Through activities and games, they can discover the pleasure of relaxing among the bubbles. What is more, children aged 5 and over can access the main facilities, where the whole family can enjoy the hydromassage baths, float in the panoramic lagoon or walk beneath the outdoor waterfalls.

You will be staying at Sercotel Delfos Andorra, located in Escaldes-Engordany, just a few minutes from Caldea. This is one of those hotels where you instantly feel at home. Your body relaxes and your worries are left at the door. Everything is ready to welcome you, so all you need to do is sink into a comfortable, freshly made bed. The hotel also offers family rooms, so you can all stay together, as well as a children’s area in the lobby and an on-site restaurant, ideal if you would rather enjoy lunch or dinner without having to venture far.
