Open innovation to transform the hospitality sector

Sercotel, with technological support from SEIDOR, join forces to promote a new collaboration space between hotels and startups.

OpenStay Lab connects hotel business knowledge with the most advanced technology to create solutions that improve guest experience, optimize management, and make the sector a more sustainable, agile, and intelligent environment. OpenStay Lab is a joint initiative of Sercotel, one of the leading Spanish hotel chains, and SEIDOR, a technology consulting firm with a presence in 45 countries and over 10,000 professionals.

The program is part of Sercotel's Innovation Hub and represents the next step to open innovation to the entrepreneurial ecosystem and accelerate digitalization of the hospitality sector.

Here, ideas become real projects: startups, experts, and teams from both companies will work together to develop applicable, scalable solutions with direct impact on the hotel business.

From all submitted proposals, up to three winning projects will be selected, each potentially receiving an investment of up to €100,000 from Sercotel to develop their solution and take it to the next level.

With this initiative, Sercotel reinforces its commitment to technological advancement in the hotel sector, consolidating a permanent co-innovation space together with SEIDOR, its technological partner.

A program focused on real challenges in hospitality

OpenStay Lab seeks solutions applicable to the main challenges of today’s hotel sector, from personalizing guest experience to operational efficiency, sustainability, and advanced use of data and artificial intelligence. The program covers areas such as customer experience, process automation, IoT, energy management, payments and revenue, marketing and loyalty, cybersecurity, and data analytics.

Selected startups work throughout the program validating their model, operational pilot design, and preparing their value proposition, culminating in real tests at Sercotel hotels and a final presentation before an expert committee from both companies. An environment designed to turn innovation into tangible impact.
