Sercotel has reached 100 hotels in its portfolio following the addition of four new assets in Catalonia, the Valencian Community, and Andalusia. The company achieves this milestone after five years of sustained growth, during which it has tripled the size of its business and strengthened its presence in Spain and Andorra.
The new additions combine three hotel projects under construction, located in Sant Cugat del Vallès (Catalonia), Valencia, and El Puig de Santa Maria (Valencian Community), with one immediately available property: Sercotel Avenida Almería. The latter is set to open next July, while the three projects under development are expected to open between 2028 and 2029.
Sercotel reaches 100 hotels after five years of sustained growth. The company closed 2025 with a turnover of €170 million, compared to €52 million in 2021, and expects to reach €200 million in 2026. During this period, the chain has more than tripled its business size, added over 50 properties to its portfolio, and maintained double-digit annual growth.
This growth has also been reflected in the company’s workforce, which has increased nearly fivefold over the past five years, rising from 300 employees in 2021 to almost 1,500 professionals in 2026. This evolution consolidates Sercotel as a model for attracting national and international talent, capable of incorporating diverse and specialised profiles to support its expansion and reinforce its positioning in the hotel sector.
As explained by Sercotel CEO José Rodríguez: “Reaching 100 hotels confirms that Sercotel has a solid, profitable model ready to continue evolving. In recent years we have tripled our business volume, strengthening our long-term financial stability and consolidating a more robust and efficient structure. This growth has been supported by a committed focus on talent, technology, innovation, and excellence in the guest experience. None of this would be possible without a team that understands hospitality from the perspective of people.”

With the arrival of the 100th hotel, Sercotel completes a phase of sustained growth that has strengthened the scale, reach, and diversification of the company in Spain and Andorra. The chain’s portfolio currently comprises 82 operational hotels — 61 under management or operation, 21 franchised — 14 projects under construction, and the 4 latest additions announced by the company.
Sercotel thus consolidates itself as one of the hotel chains with the widest reach in the national market, capable of catering to a variety of travel motivations: from leisure, urban getaways, and family trips to business travel and events. At the same time, the company has enhanced its appeal to clients, owners, and investors, integrating new assets and consolidating a sustainable growth model.
Currently, Sercotel is present in all Spanish autonomous communities except the Balearic Islands, as well as in Andorra. The company holds a particularly strong presence in some of the main hotel markets in the country, such as Andalusia, with 16 operational hotels; Catalonia, with 12; and Madrid, with 10.
The diversification of the portfolio is reflected in several milestones achieved over the past five years, including the consolidation of its urban presence with properties such as Sercotel Caspe and Sercotel Rosellón in Barcelona, the recently opened Sercotel Sevilla Don Luciano and Sercotel HMO Martina (Granada), its entry into Andorra with Sercotel Delfos Andorra, and its expansion into holiday destinations such as Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Alicante, and Marbella, where the chain opened its first hotel on the Costa del Sol. In addition, Sercotel has increased its value proposition with the recent addition of its first 5-star hotel under management, located in Almería.
On this basis, Sercotel now launches its 2026–2029 Strategic Plan, aiming to give a new boost to its expansion, exceed 160 properties and achieve a turnover of more than €360 million. The plan will be based on four levers — growth, technology, talent, and guest experience — to move towards a more cross-functional, technologically advanced, efficient, and customer-centric hotel model.
Among the new assets, the Sant Cugat del Vallès hotel project in Catalonia stands out as one of the most significant developments in this new expansion phase of Sercotel. The 4-star property, currently under development, will be located at Avenida Vía Augusta, No. 29, and will feature 202 rooms, including units with kitchen facilities. Its service offering will include a pool, gym, bar, and meeting rooms, with an opening scheduled for the first quarter of 2029.
In Valencia, the company has signed another key project of this new growth cycle. The future property will be located very close to the new Roig Arena complex, one of the main hubs for urban, cultural, and leisure activity in the city. It will be a 4-star hotel with 200 rooms, featuring a gym, a 250 m² multipurpose room, private parking, and a terrace with a pool. Its opening is scheduled for 2028.
Expansion in the Valencian Community is completed with a hotel project in El Puig de Santa Maria, on the seafront, specifically on Camino Santa Elvira. The future 4-star property with 112 rooms will strengthen Sercotel’s commitment to the holiday segment in the region and will feature a pool terrace, restaurant with outdoor terrace, gym, multipurpose room, and private parking. Its opening is also scheduled for 2028.
Alongside these three projects under construction, the company is adding Sercotel Avenida Almería in Andalusia, a 4-star hotel with 78 rooms, located just 5 minutes’ drive from central Almería. The property will join Sercotel’s portfolio immediately and is scheduled to open in July.
