Murcia, a paradise of history, gastronomy, nature, beaches a

Murcia is in vogue. The reason? There's something for everyone: Food lovers, art and history enthusiasts, nature lovers, beach lovers... For all these reasons, a trip to this province promises excitement and relaxation in equal measure. That's why!

Your love affair with the region will begin in Murcia, a cosmopolitan city where you'll love strolling along its pedestrian streets. Here, good atmosphere and good food abound. Our must-visit spots? The delightful tapas at Plaza de las Flores or Plaza de Santo Domingo, a visit to the Real Casino, and a lively tour of its urban art murals! Expert advice: explore them at your own pace from our Sercotel JC1, a very well-located accommodation with an indoor pool that also welcomes pets.

Cartagena is another city that promises unforgettable walks thanks to the excellent preservation of its heritage. Its Roman Theater is one of those gems that must be visited at least once in a lifetime. To do so comfortably, stay nearby, like at the Sercotel Alfonso XIII hotel, a comfortable four-star hotel renovated in 2018. From here, you can also admire the city's renowned modernist architecture. Make sure to visit the City Hall Palace!

Just a ten-minute drive away, paradise presents itself in the form of one of Spain's best beaches: Cala Cortina, with its clear and tranquil waters.

Unique nature and picture-postcard villages in Murcia

Inland, the Region also has some of those little villages that are a sight to behold, such as Puerto Lumbreras, crowned by the castle of Nogalte. You will also be struck by its cave houses and its religious imagery, which shines in all its splendour in Holy Week.

To get to know it, book a room at the Sercotel Hotel Riscal, a modern and functional accommodation, recently built, which will also allow you to visit the palatial and beautiful Lorca. And, just 25 minutes away by car, the irresistible beaches of Águilas await you!

        Calblanque

        Murcia, love for the beaches

Between Murcia and Puerto Lumbreras you will also find a very special place, a unique lunar landscape formed by badlands: the Gebas ravines. Further inland, you will find the Sierra Espuña Regional Park, a wonderful environment that you can discover through its many trails prepared for you to walk or cycle along.

If you prefer to travel towards the coast, you will come across the Calblanque Regional Park, an oasis of tranquillity and unspoilt beaches where nature and the coast live in complete harmony.

In fact, yes, let's talk about beaches! After all, they are one of the great attractions of this province with coasts bathed by the ever-temperate Mar Menor and the Mediterranean.

In Calblanque, you can't miss the beach of the same name, as well as Las Cañas or Los Dentoles. They are not the best known for their services, but for their beauty.

You should know that the so-called Costa Cálida has almost thirty blue flag beaches with everything you need for a day in the sun.

Another sandy area of prodigious beauty is El Mojón, in San Pedro del Pinatar, half an hour from the city of Murcia. This perfectly preserved beach is very close to another must-see excursion on your trip: the park of the Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro del Pinatar.

In the 865-hectare wetland, the salt pools, as pink as the flamingos that inhabit them, are the stars of the show. The perfect ending to your wonderful adventure!
